Carolina Studios engages in collaborative arrangements with traditional after-school programs, faith-based organizations, local municipalities, local for-profit companies and other organizations as a means to: Expose more children to the growing media arts industry, who would otherwise not have that opportunity. Provide additional programs to compliment programs already in place, to further inspire, intrigue, and stimulate the minds of young people Obtain access to more safe environments that keep kids occupied on weekday afternoons Provide additional educational support and reinforcement Provide new opportunities for college students and other people interested in careers in teaching and mentoring children Provide that extension of community services that address the most important part of our society – our children Provide cooperative fundraising opportunities Double our awareness to the public
Charleston RiverDogs Carolina Studios has secured a deal with the Charleston RiverDogs whereby we can promote our organization at baseball games and special events, as well as set up on-site studio workstations for kids to see what it is all about. This relationship is a living example of how local for-profit organizations and non-profit organizations can forge effective win-win relationships. The Boys & Girls Club of Trident County Recently we embarked on a major collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club of Trident County, South Carolina. We have partnered with them to provide extended services to their programming. The uniqueness of our Music Technology Program provides a creative, innovative approach in engaging childrens' interest. City of Charleston In December of 2008, through diligent negotiations, we were offered an unprecedented opportunity by the City of Charleston. The city agreed to let us open new programs inside of their recreational centers at several different parks throughout the city. This arrangement will allow us to grow throughout the city. Currently, one such location exists at Forest Park Palyground in West Ashley.
College of Charleston Also in December of 2008, we collaborated with the College of Charleston to find qualified instructors. Through their internship program, we have already hired two new instructors who are very excited to teach and inspire the kids at the Mall Park location.
